Runescape Construction - Using Oak Logs

Construction in RuneScape is an expensive skill to level and just as expensive to decorate your house with all the finest materials. However, Oak Logs offer a relatively fast and more economical method of levelling your construction. It is not cheap, simply more economical.

The idea is to get to level 50 construction - once you reach level 30 you can use Tears Of Guthix weekly experience or genie lamps as well as doing some general building.

Once you reach level 50 then you should hire a Demon Butler to do your bidding. The furniture of choice to make is the 'Oak Larder' that requires 8 Oak Planks. Players will need to build the larder and remove it 3 times (24 oak is the maximum the demon butler can carry - but you will also have some cash to pay the butler, some noted oak planks or oak logs as well as a hammer and a saw).

The process is somewhat laborious although it is one of the most efficient methods of raising your construction level effectively. It will still cost a lot of cash with 6000 coins needed to convert the 24 oak logs to oak planks per inventory as well as the 10,000 coins needed to pay the demon butler when he demands it.

Runecrafting - World 66

Runecrafting may be one of the more difficult and labour intensive skills in Runescape if you are determined to mine the essence and run the essence yourself. Members in runescape do have a good option to speed up the process - world 66 law crafting.

Since Jagex released pure rune essence and later released player owned houses, many players have focussed on raising their construction skill and many have stopped training their runecrafting.

This is primarily being posted to remind members that world 66 law runecrafting is still one of the quickest methods to gain runecrafting experience. The cost involved may have increased as pure essence is at least double the cost of the price rune essence used to be traded at, although the rate of experience gained is still the same.

Free to play runescape players will still need to look at other runes to gain their runecrafting levels - air and fire runes generally will be the easiest and possibly the most beneficial to runecraft for these players.

Fletching in Banks

A lot of players still continue to fletch their logs at the same place they cut them. This is inefficient and can easily be improved upon if players simply stockpile their logs and then later fletch them at a bank.

fletching in a bankThe idea is simple, players can quickly bank the logs they get from woodcutting and continue stockpiling until they get the required amount of logs or even reach a woodcutting level.

With the logs stockpiled, players can then bring out their fletching materials which should consist of a knife and 27 logs. It is just a matter of making longbows whenever possible for all the logs in your inventory at one time and then banking all the unstrung longbows, taking out all logs (only 27 will be able to be taken out), and repeating the process.

This is a much more efficient method than simply fletching the logs as you cut them since you do not have to waste time in dropping the unstrung longbows. Players can also gain some money from this by later selling the noted longbows to a shop.

If a player has a high enough fletching level to make either Yew Longbows or better, then it is normally better to cast high alchemy and receive 768gp for each Yew Longbow or 1536gp for each Magic Longbow.

Overall, if you want to speed up your fletching and you have stockpiled logs, then fletching at a bank can save you time AND make a little bit of money in the process as well.

Tears of Guthix

Any player in Runescape that has completed the Tears of Guthix quest should be fully aware of the experience gained from the mini game associated with the quest. The weekly experience is given to the lowest skill of a player - provided they have above level 30 in that skill.

To start a game, players will need to speak to Juna - located through the back of the Lumbridge Swamp Caves.
Speaking to Juna

Players will then need to collect up as many Guthix Tears as possible in the time permitted. The Guthix Tears will flow from the blue streams and increase the experience gained when time is up. Players should avoid collecting any tears from the green stream as it will reduce the total collected and therefore reduce the experience awarded at the end of the game.

Overall, this is not going to be a great source of experience in your favourite skill, moreso, it will offer players an easy way to train their most disliked skill and therefore is a valuable way to gain some of the lower levels of a skill that you do not like training.

Crafting Tip - Glass Making

Making glass can be a profitable business for members in RuneScape. The resources required are:

1. Buckets of Sand
2. Glass Blowing Pipe
3. Soda Ash

Collecting up the required ingredients can be tedious at the best of times. However, if you can successfully set up a supplier of Seaweed or Soda Ash then the process of glass making becomes a lot simpler and potentially more profitable. A Soda Ash supplier would be the ideal option, however, if you only managed to get a Seaweed supplier then it cuts down the time required to collect the resource, as you would simply need to cook the Seaweed on a range to get the required Soda Ash.

A second, much overlooked tip for making glass production more efficient is the daily collection of sand from Bert at Yanille. Any player who has completed the Hand in the Sand Quest will be able to receive a daily bonus of Sand Buckets.

Collecting sand from Bert

Combining both tips, if you remember to collect the sand daily, then you could focus on making glass only 1 day each month. This would maximise your profits on that day as well as giving you plenty of time to concentrate on any other area within the game.

Runescape Construction

Tips by South Gal79

Oak logs- best area I know of so far take the spirit tree to the grand tree once you get to the grand tree there are about 6-8 oak trees beside the bank.

Teak Logs- only places I know of atm would be tele to castle wars walk south then all the way west there is one tree there. If you have done the recipe for disater quest and ape atoll quest you can tele to ape atoll and there are a few trees beside the wooden gate and by the dungeon there.

Teak and Mahogany- If you have done the Tai Bwo Wannai Clean Up mini game, you can gain access to teak and mahogany here but you have to give the gate keeper 100 trading sticks to get in each time.

Building mode- If you have the level to buy the Butlers, i refer the Butler himself he carries 20 logs a time and he cost 5k to purchase and 5k about every 5 or so trips he does. You can take your noted logs, saw, hammer and cash with you and just stay in building mode to gain levels until your logs run out.
- Use your noted logs on the butler, he will bring back unnoted
- Use your unnoted logs on the butler again and he will take them to the saw mill.
- Fastest way Ive learned to level would be making the oak larder which gives 480 each larder and you can get 3 larders out of one inventory.

Runescape - Tip Collection

This will help Runescape players help each other and with new releases regularly by Jagex, anyone can submit a runescape tip either by commenting on any of the posts in this blog or contacting us via the runescape help site that has now been put in place to deal with all aspects of the game.

I will review all tip submissions on a regular basis and for now there are a few restrictions in place to prevent automated spamming. I would hope this would continue to be the case and that no further moderation would be required.

From all contributions on any post, I will assemble information and move it into the main website whenever there is sufficient information to become useful. I do urge people to contribute to any aspect of the website and help me in the development.

There is an existing list of runescape tips broken down by category already available, however, the list is not exhaustive and any new tips can be added at any time.
Thanks.
